DIY Leather Strap Shelves
Our leather strap shelves were created for our little mans nursery. This easy to complete project is a cost effective storage idea that would suit many styles.
The effect is beautiful and took limited time to complete.
What you will need to complete your own leather strap shelving
- Leather straps
- Hole punch
- Tape measure
- Timber shelving
- Fixing screws
Step 1 – Use easy peal tape to layout your design.
We measured out our shelving and placed tape lines on the wall to see where we wanted the shelving to be placed and how far apart.
Step 2 – Get the right length, height and distance.
Wrap the leather around the shelving and hold in place to get the desired length. Get a helping hand to hold them up against the wall to ensure the length is correct and not intruding the other shelf.
Step 3 – Get your hole punch ready
Use your hole punch to cut through the three layers of leather as seen in the pic below and add your hardware.
Step 4 – Secure leather straps to the wall
Once your straps are secured to the wall. You are ready to add your timber shelving and decorate at will.
We love the finished project and we enjoyed filling the shelves with MJS little keep sakes and personal belongings.
